Armax: The Journal of Contemporary Arms is a twice-annual journal published by Helios House Press on behalf of the Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming. The journal is the peak international publication promoting the scholarship of contemporary arms.

Armax was launched by former CFM Curator Herbert G. Houze in 1987, and comprised nine issues spread across six volumes, published from 1987 to 1996, now hard to find and often expensive.

In audio and video circles, remastering is the creation of a new 'master' or source recording, generally done to maintain a valuable original recording while improving its quality and/or clarity. What we are offering with this set of books is a remaster of the original six volumes of Armax. We are keeping the original top-notch research content but placing it in a more contemporary, accessible layout with brand-new photographs and enhanced visuals for modern researchers. A full list of articles for all Armax issues is available here

A series introduction places the original run of journals in their historical context, and editorial notes provide important details at key points in many articles. In addition, significantly higher-quality paper and bindings will make these a pleasure to read, and more durable for years to come.
