H.P. Lovecraft was the most prolific letter writer in U.S. history. Globally, he was second only to Voltaire in his output. Estimates indicate that he wrote some 90,000 letters during his lifetime.

Part anthology, part epistolary reader, each issue of Miskatonic Missives serves as an ideal companion guide for exploring one of H.P. Lovecraft's most fascinating letters. Every issue includes a reproduction of the full text of the letter in question, supported by a variety of relevant reference material, including contemporary and modern fiction, academic writing, poetry, and artwork. Each book is arranged chronologically, so that a reader can easily follow along with the text of a letter or, where applicable, peruse the issue in conjunction with an episode of Voluminous.

I urge everyone to secure this distinctive item.

The Spirit of Revision
£48.00

The Spirit of Revision: Lovecraft's Letters to Zealia Brown Reed Bishop examines H.P. Lovecraft's correspondence with one of his revision clients, Zealia Brown Reed Bishop. Through dozens of detailed letters, Lovecraft coached and advised her over the course of several years, and they went on to collaborate on the stories "The Curse of Yig", "The Mound", and "Medusa's Coil". The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society carefully scanned and transcribed the original manuscripts which date from 1927 to 1936. Thirty-six new letters to Mrs. Bishop are presented in sequence with eighteen previously known letters to create the most thorough picture of the correspondence between Lovecraft and Bishop possible. The collection is extensively annotated, and includes pictures of reference documents which Lovecraft recommended to his clients, newspaper clippings, a cartoon by Lovecraft, and much more.

Edited by Sean Branney and Andrew Leman, The Spirit of Revision is published in partnership with the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. First published as a black-and-white, softcover book by the HPLHS, Helios House Press is proud to be publishing a beautiful second edition. Printed in full colour on high-quality paper and presented in a smythe-sewn, lay-flat quarter-bound hardcover binding with gold foil accents, this edition is a must-have for collectors and lovers of fine books alike.
