The first series includes the following four short stories:
What Was It?, the story of an encounter with an invisible intruder, by Fitz James O’Brien (first published in 1859);
The Yellow Wallpaper, a psychological horror by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, (first published in 1892);
Markheim, a classic tale of the internal struggle between good and evil with a horrific twist, by Robert Louis Stevenson (first published in 1885); and
The Cask of Amontillado, a disturbing tale of revenge by Edgar Allan Poe (first published in 1846).
Each of these tales has been lightly edited by N.R. Jenzen-Jones, typeset in classic style, and printed on high-quality paper stock using heritage printing techniques by a small, family-owned printer in Scotland.
Hand-bound with a pamphlet stitch in contrasting scarlet thread, these unique editions are hand-numbered and strictly limited to 500 copies each.
