The second series includes the following four short stories:

  1. The Mummy's Foot, in which a man learns the hard way the perils of using a mummy's foot as a paperweight, by Théophile Gautier (first published in 1840);

  2. The Tale of Satampra Zeiros, in which would-be thieves are confronted by an ancient horror, by Clark Ashton Smith (first published in 1931);

  3. The Mark of the Beast, in which a god demonstrates that it is not be disrespected, by Ruyard Kipling (first published in 1890); and

  4. The Novel of the White Powder, in which alternative medicine displays horrific consequences, by Arthur Machen (first published in 1895).

Each of these tales has been lightly edited by N.R. Jenzen-Jones, typeset in classic style, and printed on high-quality paper stock using heritage printing techniques by a small, family-owned printer in Scotland.

Hand-bound with a pamphlet stitch in contrasting scarlet thread, these unique editions are hand-numbered and strictly limited to 500 copies each.

You owe it to yourself to enjoy the tactile pleasure of holding and examining a beautifully executed chapbook. The printing, typography, and illustrations are superb.
